Vegetable Cultivation is an effective tool for the development of Tribals

Manika Bhuyan, S/o Gunju Bhuyan at Gangapur village. After intervention of OTELP/SWWS, he was interested in vegetable cultivation with support of RKVY. He was provided 50gm. Brinjal, 50 gm. Tomato seeds to cultivate in 1000 square meter land. Land was prepared properly with use of PSB and Azospinition to make free from the pests. With use of Bio-fertilizer the land was fertile. Seedlings were planted properly with proper care. After three months production of Brinjal and Tomato came out.
Total Production of Tomato was – 366 Kgs.
Domestic Consumption - 25 Kg.
Selling - 341 Kgs @ Rs. 15 = Rs. 5115.00
Total Profit earned = Rs. 5115.00
Total Production of Brinjal was - 248 Kgs.
Domestic Consumption - 34 Kgs.
Selling - 214 Kgs. @ Rs. 12 = Rs. 2568.00
Total Profit earned = Rs. 7683.00/-
